Pre-game history: Essentially the same as canon, except that Barriss's previous Master, Luminara Unduli, had a long history of abusing (physically, mentally, etc.) her Padawan.

In-game history: Upon Barriss's entry to the game, Mace Windu discovered her abuse and took her in. Shortly thereafter, the Council reassigned her to him, regardless of the fact that Mirialans are always trained by other Mirialans. She promptly redecorated her new bedroom in shades of black (with glitter, as added by Anakin). Although initially uncomfortable around everybody, she quickly warmed up to Mace and Anakin (and, to a certain extent, Ferus). Her crush on Anakin quickly grew into something more, although she knew it would never be reciprocated. She was one of the first ones to meet the other pair of Anakin and Obi-Wan, when she and Mace went to the Outer Rim to rescue them from Count Dooku. She passed out while healing Anakin, due to a dark aura (presumably from the Force lightning used on him). Sometime after she returned, the original (OOC) Anakin found out about her feelings, although it took him awhile to realize that he really did love her in return. She was one of the first few at the Temple to befriend Maul and encouraged his interest in healing.

Character: Barriss tries to be an angsty goth, but rather tends to fail at it. (She does have a long history of self-mutilation, but Mace took away her knife.) She is cheerful, often very easily excited, and has mostly (but not entirely) overcome her fear of others. She is scrupulously polite and very dedicated to her work as a Jedi, supervising the Younglings' lightsaber practices. She is very empathetic, able to sense others' emotions through the Force (to a certain extent), and tries her hardest to make people feel better whenever something's wrong with them. Even though she's restless and hyperactive (due to her tendency to drink absurd amounts of coffee), she also enjoys meditation. She has a black kitten named Bastila (after the character in KotOR), and calls Mace's kitten (named Master Cuddles) Revan.

Physical appearance: The same as canon. Barriss also has a small metal stud on the right side of her nose, just below her tattoos, and the same interlocking diamond pattern going down her backbone (presumably done at the same time as the tattoos on her face and hands). She prefers to wear her hair loose, but wears it pulled back into a braid or ponytail (with her Padawan braid left to hang free) when healing or dressing up. Although she spends most of her time in her Jedi robes, she prefers goth/emo/punk clothing, and likes to wear her leather corset when she's feeling flirtatious. When her arms are bared, a series of vertical scars going down her arms can be seen.

OOC!Barriss is a character in omg_lightsaber and is played by darthsemicolon. She is portrayed in icons by Nalini Krishnan (her actress from AotC).

Disclaimer: OMG!Lightsaber is a crack RP, and, therefore, Barriss's character is not meant to be taken seriously. The mun is fully aware that she is overly angsty and melodramatic, and has an excessively tragic past.
